Who we are

Ethereum Argentina is a non-profit project that promotes the use of Ethereum technology in the country and its values of decentralization, transparency, inclusion, and security.

Main objectives:

  1. Promote education and the growth of the Ethereum community through conferences, hackathons, and meetups across the country. Create vibrant and inclusive networking environments.
  2. Institutional Relations and Advocacy: Connect with local governments, tech chambers, and educational institutions to advocate for and foster the use of Ethereum technology in key areas that benefit citizens.
  3. Support for entrepreneurs: Provide the necessary tools and connections to those who wish to start or are already working on projects based on Ethereum technology and decentralized applications. Connect local talent with leading global projects. Create mentoring spaces.
  4. Research: Conduct specific studies on topics of interest to help develop the use of Ethereum technology in the country. Regulatory, governmental, university, scientific, and public goods issues.

Current status of the project: To date, Ethereum Argentina has organized two large events in Buenos Aires and a smaller one in Mendoza, a booming city in Argentina. These events have been focused on promoting the use of Ethereum as a blockchain and showcasing its attributes, fostering the exchange of ideas and the development of the ecosystem.

One of the fundamental pillars of our project is the strengthening of an inclusive community. We create a space where developers, experts and enthusiasts can exchange ideas, collaborate and build solutions together. This community approach not only supports individuals, but also strengthens the Ethereum ecosystem on a local and regional level.

Through our conferences, meetups and hackathons, we facilitate access to technical knowledge and success stories that are not always available or accessible to the general public in our language. The exchange of ideas and the presentation of use cases foster innovation and create an environment where people can learn directly from experts without the need for commercial or economic barriers.

By focusing on community building and open access to knowledge, Ethereum Argentina is committed to the collective growth and democratization of blockchain technology in Argentina and Latin America.

Progress made: These events have served as a platform to bring together developers, enthusiasts and experts in Ethereum. Through these conferences, we have been able to foster awareness and adoption of Ethereum in Argentina.

Future focus: Our vision is to become the continuous voice of Ethereum in Argentina, providing a constant space for learning and debate, and functioning as a key meeting point for the community.

Ethereum Argentina’s relationship with Scroll

Since 2023, Ethereum Argentina’s relationship with Scroll has been essential for the growth of our events and the local community. That year, Scroll supported us as a sponsor of our main event and buildathon, providing key backing that continued into early 2024 when they again joined as sponsors for the Mendoza edition of Ethereum Argentina. The collaboration didn’t stop there: in August 2024, Scroll returned as a sponsor of our main event and led an exclusive “Scroll and Level Up” hackathon, which gathered over 300 registered builders, 25 mentors, +5 jurors, 40 hours of content, and a total of 56 projects developed on Scroll.

Why we joined Scroll Governance & our Scope

Our goal is to consolidate ourselves as the main reference in Argentina to:

  • Promote the use of Ethereum technology.
  • Stimulate technological innovation.
  • Be a space for debate and research on the economic challenges and regulation of cryptocurrencies.
  • Promote financial inclusion, blockchain security, and the creation of new projects based on Ethereum.
  • Facilitate the discussion of successful use cases, inspiring the creation of new solutions based on the technology.

We seek to contribute to the growth of the Ethereum ecosystem in Argentina and generate opportunities that positively impact the entire Latin American region.

In its transition towards decentralized governance, Scroll has adopted an approach focused on the inclusion and distribution of communities and users from LATAM and Africa, where builders interact with users who utilize this technology daily.

We are excited to participate and contribute our perspective to the upcoming debates shaping the new collective. With this participation we aim to support the core values of Ethereum: Open Source, Decentralization, and Security.

Conflict of interest

At Ethereum Argentina, we are committed to transparency regarding any potential conflicts of interest. As a delegate in Scroll’s governance, we currently see no conflicts but remain dedicated to informing any arise. Our focus is to ensure that all our contributions align with the best interests of the ecosystem.
