This post means to start an update thread from the Governance Contribution Reward Working Group.
The working group kicked off yesterday (18.07.2025), with participation from @kevinknielsen, Alex, @Seiryuu, @Bitblondy, as well as @Jamilya, and @eugene.
We are aiming to draft a proposal in the next ~4 weeks, targeting the September voting cycle. The
group is tasked to outline the next GCR iteration covering the second half of the year, following the initial version passed in June.
By next week, the working group members will research existing delegate incentive programs, compare the criteria and develop delegate personas.
Feel free to reach out if you have any questions or input!

The working group held its second meeting yesterday.
We reviewed a list of incentive criteria (thanks Alex and @kevinknielsen), summarizing criteria from other delegate incentive programs, and discussed which activities should be considered baseline, and which could be treated as bonus or optional.
The goal is to recognize active delegates, while keeping the program accessible for new participants and reducing operational overhead.
By next week, we plan to collect data on current delegate activity to run potential scenarios (@Seiryuu) and draft the initial proposal outlining the structure and rationale of the next GCR iteration.
Thanks for the good wishes @Matt_FactoryLabs!

Gm, here’s a quick update from our third GCR working group meeting.
We’ve created a draft proposal outlining the baseline structure of the program and focused our discussion on key details such as operations of the program, payout frequency, data collection, and the weighting of incentive criteria.
Over the coming week, we’ll continue refining the proposal and aim to resolve a few open questions with the gov team. We’re also still in the process of gathering off-chain delegate participation data.
The goal is to have a finalized version ready by mid-August, and we’re already looking forward to your input.

Hello everyone!
There are no major updates from the GCR working group for this week. We’ve received feedback from the governance team on some last details (many thanks @eugene and @Jamilya), and we are working on incorporating these into the draft.
We’re also continuing to gather some of the participation data and fine-tuning the criteria accordingly.

The GCR Cycle 2 proposal is finally published: Proposal – Governance Contribution Recognition Cycle 2 (May–October 2025)
We put a lot of thought in the (final) details, introducing a tier system, evaluation criteria, and recommending a data provider to include a sophisticated forum scoring model.
This proposal suggests a higher participation standard than the retro, while remaining inclusive through a two-payout model. New delegates, especially from the training program, are still able to join the second half of the cycle.
If the community would like to move this forward for the September voting cycle, we’d appreciate your feedback within the next two weeks. Please don’t hesitate to reach out with data adjustment requests or other questions.
We look forward to your input!
Special thanks to the gov team and our working group members @Seiryuu, @kevinknielsen, and Alex for their contributions.
