Being a Delegate with the Negation Game

Hey my friends,

A brief post on what it has been like to be a delegate with the Negation Game so far.

See the associated video and then I’ll provide a summary at the end as well.

Broad notices:

  1. Creating a Negation Game rationale definitely increased the breadth and depth of factors that I considered in making the decision
  2. Endorsing the various points, and reviewing my endorsements seemed to also increase my consistency, as things I had considered important in the past had the opportunity to be re-reviewed
  3. It doesn’t seem like the velocity of decision making really increased, in fact this was an additionally difficult vote for me which took me quite a while to come to a choice on
  4. It doesn’t seem like this helped in the negotiation process, it didn’t generate new alternatives based on the constraints that were noticed

So, in terms of our goal of increasing rigor and accountability, it at least had that effect on me. I’m curious about other delegate’s experiences. If you haven’t yet given feedback please fill out this survey:

I would like to thank @connormcmk for developing this tool and for spending time with delegates to onboard them to the dApp he is building. I think the negation game is a really cool tool for delegates and DAOs.

Hey Matt! It was great to meet with delegates, generally they were open to talking through their reasoning, especially since I believe the calls themselves were often quite helpful in terms of helping them to unpack their own reasoning. I just reached out to about 150 delegates through telegram one by one and then had about 20-30 conversations. More are ongoing.

As always, try to offer value and listen to where the DAO’s needs are the greatest and opportunities will open.
