1. TL;DR

In February 2026 we ran an ambassador campaign that grew ChatterPay wallets on Scroll from 1,672 to 6,104 a 265% increase at a blended cost of $0.56 per new Scroll address. We spent $2,526 of our own money to prove the model.

2. Proven Traction: The February Campaign

The ChatterPay Ambassador Referral Program ran from February 1 to March 19, 2026, with a clear objective: accelerate wallet creation through trusted community voices while testing scalable acquisition channels.

The result exceeded all expectations.

In 49 days, we quadrupled our total wallet count from 1,600 to 6,100+ at a cost of approximately $2,526 USD.

Every one of these wallets is a new unique address on Scroll.

“Hiring” Content as a Growth Lever

Hiring-framed announcements are consistently ChatterPay’s highest-performing content. Historical data confirms this pattern across multiple hires (Andrés as Global CM, Dolly as Africa CM, and now the Ambassador cohort). It works because it creates urgency (limited spots), signals legitimacy (real company, real roles), drives immediate action (wallet creation is a prerequisite to apply), and generates organic social proof (people share job opportunities).

The Discord Funnel

The funnel from social media → Discord ticket → application form → wallet creation proved highly effective. The key mechanism: requiring wallet creation before application submission converted applicants into Scroll users regardless of whether they were selected. Of 454 applicants, only 30 became ambassadors — but all 454 (and their networks) created wallets.

Transparent, Simple Compensation

$1.00 per wallet was tangible, immediate, and fair. Ambassadors could self-calculate their earnings potential. Weekly leaderboards and public tracking dashboards built trust and sustained competition. Community spotlights on top performers (Devine, Faustin, Issifou) created aspirational examples that motivated the rest.

In March, the payment per wallet was reduced to $0.50 USD, a change that was well received by the ambassadors.

Quality Over Quantity

Selecting only 30 ambassadors from 454 applicants maintained program quality and manageability. This selectivity also reinforced the “hiring” narrative, being chosen felt valuable, which drove ambassador engagement.

3. Cost Comparison: ChatterPay vs. Typical L2 Acquisition

To put these numbers in context, here’s how ChatterPay’s acquisition cost compares against standard Layer 2 user acquisition channels:

At $0.5 per user, ChatterPay delivers 10-70x better unit economics than conventional L2 growth channels. And these aren’t mercenary farmers, they’re WhatsApp users in emerging markets who stay because the product solves an actual problem.

4. The Ask: $2,000 USD/Month

We are requesting $2,000 USD per month from the Scroll DAO treasury to sustain and scale this program. The initial term is 3 months (April-June 2026), renewable based on performance against the milestones in Section 5.

After 3 months, if milestones are met, we will submit a renewal proposal with updated data. If milestones are not met, remaining funds (if any) will be returned to the Scroll DAO treasury.
