Argentina Local Node- Proposal

Proposal type: Local Node - Community

Summary

The current proposal is a follow up of the Argentina Local Node Regional Evaluation and it aims to launch an end-to-end Scroll Local Node program in Argentina. By developing this initiative we intend to leverage our country’s talent, adoption and momentum in order to expand Scroll’s developer base, facilitate the builder-to-founder pipeline and become an epicenter of growth for the protocol. With a series of programs and collaborations, the expectation is to tackle the funnel comprehensively and progressively during a 6-month roadmap divided in 3-month modules.

  • Funding Request: $58,772 USD over a 6-month period, organized in 3-month modules.
  • Stakeholders: SEED Latam, SEED Nodes, Nerdconf & Crecimiento (Founder School)
  • Outcomes:
    • ≥2 projects onboarded to Scroll
    • ≥3 regional meetups across the country
    • ≥4 educational contents developed in Spanish
    • strengthened Argentine Scroll mind-share.

Motivation

As stated in the Regional Evaluation, the current argentinian context is compelling for developing a Scroll Local Node. With DevConnect around the corner, we also believe that the timing is right in order to build upon previous efforts such as the Level Up Hackathon. We expect this efforts to showcase in November and keep driving momentum forward.

  • Mission & Vision:
    • Mission: Accelerate builders → founders pipeline within Scroll.
    • Vision: Mature, self-sustaining Scroll community network in Argentina.
  • Conflicts of Interest: There’s no current or foreseen COI identified at the moment, if there were it’ll be properly communicated to the DAO.
  • Scroll DAO Impact: We strongly see the Local Nodes playing a role within the Growth initiatives that the DAO has been discussing lately. In that sense, communities provide a high level of context and valuable input regarding actual needs that Scroll can focus on, which can then be paired up with broader initiatives such as Security Audit Subsidies and strategic liquidity allocations i.e.

Execution

Operations

This is an end-to-end program, including a complete integration in the Argentine Web3 industry and public. Therefore, it´s important to mention that accomplishing this will exceed the pre-established time & budget limits. This will be organized in 3-month modules, contemplating specific deliverables.

1. Builders to Founders

Through Collaboration with Dev Communities, IRL Meetups & Founder School participation, we will focus on:

  • Helping builders develop high-quality projects ready to access the Scroll ecosystem.
  • Strengthening Scroll’s network and visibility among emerging crypto entrepreneurs in Argentina.
  • Connect top profiles and teams in Argentina with future Scroll initiatives (such as the Scroll Campus).

Each instance of the program will feature a dedicated bounty system. Participants will access progressive missions that guide them from building a basic smart contract to shipping a functional MVP. These bounties are financially incentivized to guarantee builder engagement and retention, connecting economic rewards with project milestones. This ensures a pipeline of talent already familiar with the Scroll stack which will actively run into the Founders School ready to scale their projects within the broader ecosystem.

1.1. Nerdconf collab

Nerdconf is a developer-focused community active across Latin America. They organize events throughout the region aimed at engaging builders and onboarding them into Web3 technologies. Their next big event will take place on May 31st in Mendoza, Argentina. What sets them apart is the diversity of their programming—from hackathons and pitch days to hands-on workshops and niche networking games designed to spark collaboration.

Looking ahead, they’re preparing a large-scale hackathon across Latin America in August. We will partner with this initiative, leveraging the momentum of the event while gaining access to their developer database of over 5,000 contacts. This partnership will allow us to introduce these developers to our bounty programs focused on onboarding talent to the Scroll tech stack. Following this, participants will be invited to join the Founders School program, where they can further develop their projects and access incubation support.

1.2. Coworking Days - By SEED LatAm

Aleph will serve as the central hub where builders connect with founders, dive into Scroll’s tech stack, and collaborate with peers in a hands-on environment. These meetups will also serve as a launchpad to promote the upcoming Scroll Hackathon and gather early interest from technical profiles.

We propose hosting 2 Scroll-based Coworking Days led by SEED. Each Coworking Day will include:

  1. Open Coworking with the Community
  2. Afternoon Technical Sessions

To increase participation and connect initiatives, we will integrate a bounty structure into each Coworking Day.

  • At the end of each event, we will launch a Scroll-specific bounty.
  • Builders will have 1 week to submit a project idea and MVP.
  • Selected teams will be invited to participate in the Founders School program, where they will access mentorship, technical workshops, and the opportunity to be referred to Scroll Campus.

1.3. Regional Meetups - By SEED LatAm

Hosting Scroll-specific workshops or talks at community events across Argentina, through the SEED events. Benefits & more details about the Gira SEED program can be found here.

Format

  • IRL Events across the country
  • Open Coworking sessions in the morning
  • Scroll presentations, workshops, or challenges in the afternoon

Each Gira SEED stop will include a Scroll-specific activation with a financial incentive. Builders who participate in Scroll challenges or submit ideas/prototypes will receive rewards and qualify for follow-up initiatives. Activities will be directly connected to the Founders School program, enabling seamless onboarding of local talent.

Scroll brand presence will be ensured through physical materials, banners, and presence of team members or local ambassadors.

Distribution Channels

2. Education & Community - By SEED LatAm

While Scroll has achieved notable recognition within global Web3 circles, brand awareness and developer onboarding in Argentina remain far from saturated. Despite high crypto adoption in the region, a significant portion of local builders have never interacted directly with the Scroll ecosystem, attended a Scroll event, or encountered its technical community in a tangible way.

Through educational content & nodes operations, we aim to:

  • Grow the number of new developers building on Scroll.
  • Provide learning resources in Spanish.
  • Increase the brand mind share in the Argentina-Crypto landscape.

2.1. Education & Community Content

We will develop a dedicated Scroll section within SEED’s Gitbook & SEED Website, offering comprehensive educational content and preparation to build on Scroll. This content will be directly integrated into the Founders School program.

  • How?
    • We are already executing a Bounty Program for researchers to deep dive into technical content.
    • A Scroll-specific bounty series will be created, prioritizing:
      • Applied ZK knowledge
      • Product building with Scroll tools
      • Foundational ecosystem education
  • Content Topics: A list of suggested topics and approaches. This structure took all these resources as reference: 1, 2, 3 & 4, and is still open to modification:

This local node has the potential to make a huge impact for several reasons:

  1. Seed has a robust community that will facilitate its reach out to talent
  2. DevConnect is putting the spotlight to Argentina

I’d like that the Mexican, Brazil and Argentina local communities could share their directory of mentors and connections so that we can benefit from professional support that has both shared context and diverse expertise.

Beyond that, I endorse this proposal. I am looking forward to seeing the Argentinan node emerge.
